 NPC RELATIONSHIPS

 Ash (older brother): Ash is very protective over Dusty, and is just about the only one Dusty can sometimes feel brave enough to have a heart-to-heart with. They are very close, and Dusty can sometimes rely too heavily on Ash in order to speak for him. 
 Russell (older brother): Russell is the exact opposite of Ash. He thinks Ash coddles Dusty, and therefor is often found berating him in order to branch out of his shell. Dusty loves Russell, but will only approach him as a middleman for Ash, or to make a report to the Sheriff's Office. 
 Rudy: Dusty has had good interactions with Rudy, who is always thankful for Dusty's help and makes him feel appreciated. It's also nice to know that he's not the only awkward gro in Wynsiph. 
 Alice: Just about Dusty's only actual 'friend'. Alice has a lot of patience, and managed to weasel her way into Dusty's life when he was very little. (She actually used to babysit him back then!) Because of this, he has a lot of respect for Alice and often looks up to her. 
 Kalypso: Dusty is actually pretty shy around Kalypso, but he manages to swallow his fear in order to play with her pets. They make up for the lack of social skills.

 MAGIC 

Although Dusty isn't a huge magic user (so he'd be a bit rusty when using any), he did pick some up from his brothers when he was younger and uses his earth magic to help him navigate the woods and be efficient at his job. It's a bit more difficult in his new desert-like setting, so he's trying to pick up a bit of water dowsing when he has time.

 HISTORY  

The youngest and least-seen of the Karmik brothers. Dusty was always a shy and soft spoken wyngling, but as he grew older his shyness seemed to only grow more extreme, despite his father's best attempts to get him to be more comfortable around others. Eventually his father all but gave up attempting to force Dusty to be a 'gro he wasn't, instead letting his youngest son accompany him on his tapping trips. Dusty was taught everything one could want to know about tapping trees, which areas around Wynsiph were best for finding the best trees for their business.
Although his father and him shared very little conversations together, they were bonded far more then Russell and Ash could be. They shared a sort of sense for nature itself, and Dusty watched his father work extremely carefully. 

Dusty was the most affected when their father tragically passing, as he'd been out on the trip with his father while they'd been seeking rare and new trees to collect sap from far from town. It took Ash quite a while to convince his younger brother to take up the job of sap collector instead of just disappearing into the woods. After some months of sulking around and hiding, he finally agreed to continue his father's work, having it been the only thing that really brought him happiness. 

Dusty left Wynsiph and the familiar life he had grown to know behind after the deelagun attack, and now lives in Last Notch with his brother Ash.

  PERSONALITY 

It can be pretty much impossible for most wyngrew to see any hint of Dusty's personality besides his extreme social anxiety. This tapper always has an excuse to be elsewhere (most commonly "Oh I'm working right now sorry-bye") and tends to either leave or outright flee company. However, Dusty is a very sweet wyngro who loves nature and the quiet serenity of a healthy forest, and is always taking care to never harm the trees he taps.
The best way to socialize is to simply sit next to him (but not too close!) and enjoy the surrounding nature with him quietly. He doesn't have a lot of words, but he's much more intelligent than most gros tend to think.
